Emily Shay was previously the director of government affairs for tax and fiscal policy at the Association of Washington Business.
Emily previously worked in the Seattle office of Scarlet Oak Strategies, a public affairs and communications firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. She was an associate for the firm, planning public affairs strategies and advocacy for state-based clients in the Pacific Northwest and across the country. Before that, she worked in a law firm where she assisted attorneys and paralegals with case filings, files, and research, and she has worked as a policy researcher in Washington, D.C.
She started her career with service internships for both Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. Emily received her B.A. in political science from the University of Washington in Seattle.
